Worked example: 10m² garden wall
A 5m long, 2m high single-skin wall is 10m² — that's 600 bricks, or 660 with the 10% allowance: one 400-pack plus 260 singles. Tick the mortar option and it adds the building sand, cement and plasticiser for the 200 litres of mortar the wall needs.
60 bricks per m² for a single-skin (half-brick) wall, 120 per m² for a double-skin (one-brick) wall, and 10 standard 100mm concrete blocks per m² of blockwork. Always add 10% for cuts and breakages.
